Ruling by Dnipro's Industrial District Court
The Industrial District Court of Dnipro has found a man guilty of inflicting bodily harm on a representative of a Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC) and imposed a fine of 1,700 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH). The case was processed under a simplified procedure because the accused fully admitted his guilt and agreed with the case's circumstances.
The incident occurred on March 13, 2026, during a document check. In the course of the inspection, the accused struck the victim once in the nose with his fist. This blow resulted in the victim sustaining a closed fracture of the nasal bones, an abrasion, and a bruise under the eye. A forensic medical examination confirmed the injuries were caused by a blunt, hard object, specifically a hand. The injuries were classified as minor bodily harm causing a short-term health disorder lasting more than six days. The accused's actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Case Circumstances and Court Decision
The proceedings were considered under a simplified procedure without a court hearing or in-court examination of evidence. This was possible because the man, present in court with a defense lawyer, pleaded guilty, and the victim did not object to this form of consideration. The guilt of the accused was proven by the materials of the pre-trial investigation, including investigative reports and the expert's conclusion.
The court also considered mitigating circumstances:
- The man had no prior criminal record;
- He has a young child;
- He sincerely repented.
No aggravating circumstances were established. As a result of the case review, the court imposed a fine on the accused equivalent to 100 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, which amounts to 1,700 UAH. The verdict can be appealed within 30 days to the Dnipro Court of Appeal.
