The prosecution ordered the Kyiv City State Administration to eliminate illegal landfills
The Kyiv District Administrative Court granted the claims of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv and ordered the Kyiv City State Administration to take measures to eliminate unauthorized landfills in the Desnyansky district. One of these landfills is located opposite the Troieschyna market, while the other is along Pukhivska Street near the Almazne Lake. The court also recognized the inaction of the Kyiv City State Administration as unlawful.
The situation with landfills
The landfill opposite the Troieschyna market was formed due to the accumulation of waste from economic activities. The area of this land plot with waste is 431 sq. m, where household, industrial, and construction waste has been accumulating for years. The other landfill, located along Pukhivska Street, has a total pollution area of more than 4.7 hectares. The piles of waste near Almazne Lake reached heights of up to four meters in places, and the waste was overgrown with grass and trees.
According to current legislation, the accounting and elimination of unauthorized landfills fall under the authority of the Kyiv City State Administration, highlighting the importance of complying with the court's decision.
This situation reflects the problem of the formation of illegal landfills in large cities, which can negatively affect the ecological situation and the health of residents. The elimination of such landfills is an important step in ensuring the cleanliness of the urban environment and improving the quality of life of citizens. The enforcement of the court's decision can serve as an example for other cities in the fight against similar problems.
