GGBET Super League Playoffs Begin: Season Recap and All-Star Team Honored

Початок плейофів GGBET Суперліги: підведення підсумків сезону та вшанування зірок команди.

Media Slam Event Held in Kyiv

The first-ever open media event in the history of the Super League, the Media Slam, took place in Kyiv on April 4. Organized by the Basketball Federation of Ukraine with the support of title sponsor GGBET, the event served as a platform to review the regular season, discuss the performances of Ukraine's national teams, and honor the season's symbolic All-Star five. The GGBET Super League has now progressed to the playoff stage, where the top eight teams will compete. This event highlights the league's growing prominence in a country where basketball's popularity is on the rise.

Regular Season Review

The Media Slam featured a discussion on the results of the GGBET Super League regular season, which, according to BFU General Secretary Volodymyr Drabikovsky, was one of the most competitive in recent years.

"Nine teams completed a full championship despite all challenges. This time, the competition reached a different level—the leader lost points and lost the Cup, while underdogs defeated favorites. It was difficult to predict the final standings. The playoffs are ahead, and we are confident it will be very interesting,"
Drabikovsky noted.

The event also honored the best players of the regular championship. The speakers included:

  • Volodymyr Drabikovsky
  • Dmytro Zabirchenko
  • Mykhailo Bublyk
  • Anton Buts

CEO of GGBET UA, Serhii Mishchenko, presented a monetary certificate to BC Kyiv-Basketet for their victory in the Ukrainian Cup.

"We entered Ukrainian basketball not just to have our logo on a banner—for us, this is a systemic commitment. We see the growing interest in basketball and want to be part of this growth. And when Kyiv-Basketet wins the Cup, it's important that such victories do not go unnoticed. The hotter the competition, the stronger Ukrainian basketball becomes,"
Mishchenko emphasized.

Key matches from the regular season included:

  • Dnipro defeated Cherkaski Mavpy, 93:62
  • Kyiv-Basketet proved stronger than Zaporizhzhia, 73:64
  • Kharkivski Sokoly won against Niko-Basket, 89:81
  • Rivne secured an away victory over Prykarpattia-Hoverla, 71:79

These results set the stage for what promises to be an exciting playoff series.

The Media Slam was a significant event for Ukrainian basketball, underscoring the increasing interest in the sport within the country. The discussions of team achievements and the recognition of top players demonstrate the active work of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine and its partners in developing basketball culture. The playoffs, launching after the conclusion of the regular season, promise to be full of intriguing matches and a fierce battle for the title, raising the stakes for all participants. Thus, this event not only summarizes accomplishments but also opens new opportunities for Ukrainian basketball in the future.
