Cancellation of the Russian film in Switzerland
Switzerland has canceled the screening of the Russian propaganda film 'Maidan: Road to War', created by Russia Today. This decision was confirmed by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, who positively assessed the step taken by the Swiss authorities.
Andrii Sybiha noted that
“there is no place for Kremlin propaganda in public spaces”. He also emphasized that the responsibility for the continuation of the war lies not only with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin but also with the Russians as a whole. Sybiha added that 'this film is just one of the examples of how toxic Russian military propaganda is trying to break into the European audience'.
Reaction of European countries
Additionally, in the municipality of Florence in Italy, the performance of Russian artists Svitlana Zakharova and Vadim Repin was canceled. This decision also reflects the growing sensitivity of European countries to Russian propaganda and its influence on public opinion.
The cancellation of the film screening and the performances of Russian artists reflects the overall trend in European countries towards combating Russian propaganda, which has intensified since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. In this context, such decisions can be perceived as a signal of support for Ukraine and a refusal to cooperate with propaganda structures that seek to manipulate public consciousness in Europe.
