The Swiss Federal Council has approved a financial aid package for victims of the fatal fire at a bar in the resort town of Crans-Montana. The government plans to pay approximately 50,000 Swiss francs (about $56,000) to each of the most severely affected victims and to the families of the deceased. In total, the state will allocate 7.8 million francs for 156 individuals deemed to have suffered the most. Additionally, a separate 10-million-franc relief fund has been established. Police have dismissed rumors of a potential terrorist act, stating that the cause of the explosion was pyrotechnics used inside the venue.
