Humanitarian Coordination Meeting
Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko chaired a humanitarian coordination meeting with regional officials, focusing on housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs), support for vulnerable groups, and the functioning of social infrastructure. Out of a UAH 1 billion subvention allocated for IDP housing, nearly UAH 700 million has already been distributed. Fourteen regions have fully utilized their allocated funds, but delays have been reported in Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, and Poltava oblasts.
Yuliia Svyrydenko stated: 'We held a humanitarian coordination meeting with the regions. The focus was on housing for IDPs, support for vulnerable people, and the work of social infrastructure.'
She also emphasized that nearly UAH 700 million of the UAH 1 billion subvention has been allocated for setting up housing for IDPs, particularly for people with limited mobility and disabilities. Separately, the meeting discussed a draft program to purchase 1,000 homes in rural areas for IDPs.
New Phase of the 'Housing for IDPs from Temporarily Occupied Territories' Program
Additionally, on May 1, Ukraine launched a new phase of the state program 'Housing for IDPs from Temporarily Occupied Territories,' under which displaced individuals from temporarily occupied areas can reserve funds for home purchases through the Diia app. It was noted that 160 families have already bought new homes under the 'yeVidnovlennia' program. These initiatives aim to improve living conditions for IDPs and bolster the country's social infrastructure.
The government meeting underscores the ongoing importance of supporting internally displaced persons in Ukraine, a critical issue amid the prolonged conflict. Programs focused on providing housing and aiding vulnerable populations can significantly enhance the living standards of these individuals. The disbursement of subventions and new initiatives like the 'Housing for IDPs from Temporarily Occupied Territories' program demonstrate the state's active efforts to address humanitarian challenges arising from population displacement.
As the government continues to address the pressing needs of internally displaced persons, a new phase of the housing initiative has been launched, allowing those from occupied territories to reserve funds for home purchases through the Diia app. This development is crucial for enhancing the living conditions of displaced families.
