Kharkiv Region Residents Can Now Apply for Generator Grants Up to 300,000 Hryvnias

Жителі Харківщини отримали можливість подати заявки на гранти на генератори до 300 тисяч гривень.

'SvitloDim' Program Launches in Kharkiv Region

Applications are now open for multi-story residential buildings in the Kharkiv region to receive state compensation for purchasing autonomous power equipment. The 'SvitloDim' (Light Home) program offers grants ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias, with the amount determined by the building's height. Eligible applicants include homeowner associations (OSBB), housing and service cooperatives, and building management companies.

Applications must be submitted online via the 'Diia' portal on the 'SvitloDim' website. The program is available for buildings in the city of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, excluding temporarily occupied territories and active combat zones. To participate, applicants must open a dedicated, purpose-specific bank account with Oschadbank or another participating financial institution.

Grant Amounts and Eligible Purchases

The size of the grant depends on the number of floors and entrances in the building. Specifically:

  • Buildings up to 6 floors can receive up to 100,000 hryvnias;
  • Buildings from 7 to 16 floors can receive up to 200,000 hryvnias;
  • Buildings with 17 or more floors can receive up to 300,000 hryvnias.

Grant funds can be used to purchase gasoline, diesel, or gas-powered generators, inverters, batteries, solar panels, and high-voltage battery management units.

Yuliia Svyrydenko stated: 'Homeowner associations, housing and service cooperatives, and building managers can apply on the 'SvitloDim' website online through 'Diia' and receive assistance for autonomous power during prolonged blackouts.'

Since the program's launch on January 30, over 1,330 buildings in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast have received funding, totaling more than 335 million hryvnias. This initiative is part of a national effort to help communities maintain power during widespread outages caused by Russia's attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The 'SvitloDim' program aims to support communities in securing autonomous power supply during blackouts.

The program represents a significant step toward energy independence for apartment buildings, particularly under the strain of wartime conditions and energy crises. Given the severe disruption blackouts cause to daily life, this state support will help residents of the Kharkiv region improve living conditions and ensure a more reliable electricity supply.
