The situation on the wheat market in Ukraine in 2026
Global wheat prices began to decline in 2026; however, the Ukrainian market demonstrates resilience due to a shortage of grain supply in the ports. Wheat quotations fell by 0.5–2%, but prices for food wheat in Ukraine remain at the level of 208–214 dollars per ton (10,000–10,200 UAH per ton). At the same time, feed wheat in Ukraine costs 204–205 dollars per ton (9,700–9,900 UAH per ton).
Prices for Ukrainian wheat, despite the overall decline in global markets, remain relatively stable. The minimum price gap between food and feed wheat is 4–5 dollars per ton (200–300 UAH). This indicates that the Ukrainian market maintains some competitiveness against global trends.
Recent trends and demand for Ukrainian grain
The last tender in Jordan, held on January 6, also reflected the situation in the market. The winning bid from the company Buildcom was 260 dollars per ton (C&F). This fact confirms that despite falling global prices, the demand for Ukrainian grain remains, which may be related to its quality and delivery specifics.
Thus, despite the overall decline in wheat prices in global markets, the Ukrainian market remains resilient due to a shortage of grain supply in the ports and competitive prices for food and feed wheat.
The situation on the Ukrainian wheat market reflects the complex influence of global prices and internal factors. In the context of global changes in the agricultural market, it is important for Ukraine to maintain its competitiveness and respond to demand from international partners. Stable prices for wheat in Ukraine can contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and support exports, which is an important element of the country's economic strategy.
