Assault in Warsaw
Polish police have opened a criminal investigation after a taxi driver in Warsaw used pepper spray against a pregnant Ukrainian woman, Anastasiia, and her husband. The incident occurred on February 12 when the driver entered a narrow street despite a no-entry sign, blocking other vehicles. A conflict ensued, leading the driver to deploy the irritant spray against the couple, which caused panic among bystanders.
Witnesses called the police, and the taxi's passengers fled the vehicle following the attack. The driver attempted to flee the scene, but law enforcement had already initiated an inquiry. Authorities have now commenced criminal proceedings under Article 257 of the Polish Penal Code, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to three years.

Anastasiia, who is five months pregnant, has lived with her husband in Warsaw for over a decade. The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing to gather evidence and testimonies related to the assault.
