Unveiling the 2027 EYOF Mascot

Doro the lizard has been officially introduced as the mascot for the 2027 Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), set to take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. This lively reptilian emblem was selected through a public creative competition open to students from local schools, with the winning design submitted by student Valentina Polo. The lizard holds particular significance as a native symbol of the Lignano Sabbiadoro region.

Festival Details

Scheduled from July 24 to August 1, 2027, the Summer EYOF will be hosted in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Approximately 4,000 athletes aged 14 to 18, along with their coaches, are expected to participate. The competition program will feature 14 sports, making it a landmark event for young athletes across Europe seeking international exposure and competition experience.

Through Doro, the mascot embodies not only the local cultural heritage but also serves to unite young competitors on a global stage, highlighting the growing importance of youth sports in Europe.
