Natural Gas Pricing in Ukraine
Naftogaz of Ukraine, part of the Naftogaz Group, has confirmed it will continue to supply gas to households at a fixed rate. The price for natural gas will remain unchanged at UAH 7.96 per cubic meter for the vast majority of consumers from March 1, 2026, through April 30, 2026. This rate applies to 98% of subscribers under the Fixed tariff plan, providing significant cost predictability for families. This price stability is a key measure in a market that has seen considerable volatility in recent years.
Social Consumption Norms for Gas
Social consumption norms are established for households. For a family of three using a gas stove with hot water supply, the norm is 9.9 cubic meters, costing UAH 78.8. If a household lacks hot water, the consumption norm increases to 16.2 cubic meters, costing UAH 128.95. For homes using a gas water heater, the norm is set at 31.5 cubic meters, with a cost of UAH 250.74.
To enhance consumer safety, the installation of gas detectors is strongly recommended. These devices, costing between UAH 1225 and UAH 2200, detect dangerous gas concentrations at an early stage and can automatically shut off the gas supply or activate ventilation, thereby preventing explosions or poisoning, according to gas service representatives.
Maintaining the natural gas tariff at its current level is a crucial step in supporting Ukrainian consumers amid ongoing economic instability.
Gas Service Representatives
The extension of the fixed tariff will help households avoid additional financial strain, which is particularly important as prices for other utilities rise. The recommendations regarding gas detectors also underscore the critical importance of safe consumption, a priority for every enterprise and household in Ukraine.
