Ukrainian Household Utility Rates Frozen Until Spring 2026

Тарифи на комунальні послуги в Україні залишаться незмінними до весни 2026 року.

Household Utility Rates in Ukraine

Current tariffs for household utilities in Ukraine will remain unchanged until at least April 30, 2026. This price freeze, effective from February 1, 2026, covers gas, electricity, and water supply for domestic consumers throughout the remainder of the heating season.

Electricity and Gas Tariffs

The standard electricity rate for most Ukrainians is UAH 4.32 per kilowatt-hour. A reduced nighttime tariff of UAH 2.16 per kWh applies from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, which is half the daytime rate in effect from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Households using electric heating benefit from a rate of UAH 2.64 per kWh for monthly consumption up to 2,000 kWh.

Regarding natural gas, 98% of household consumers supplied by Naftogaz will pay UAH 7.96 per cubic meter in February. This price is guaranteed under the Fixed tariff plan and will remain valid until the end of April 2026.

Water supply and sewage disposal tariffs are held at the levels established as of February 24, 2022. For example, in Kyiv, a cubic meter of water including sewage costs UAH 30.38.

This extended tariff stability provides Ukrainian households with predictable utility costs for the next two years. For a nation facing economic pressures, this policy aims to shield family budgets from energy price volatility.

The guaranteed rates until spring 2026 allow families to plan their finances with greater certainty, reducing uncertainty over core living expenses. This stability could have a positive impact on the broader economic situation amid ongoing challenges.

Maintaining these tariffs is a significant economic policy decision, likely influenced by both political considerations and the current state of the Ukrainian economy, which warrants continued monitoring.
