Lesya Ukrainka Theater Undergoes Renovation

The Lesya Ukrainka Theater has launched a fundraising initiative to refurbish its auditorium seating. Patrons who sponsor the restoration of a seat will have a commemorative plaque placed on it, bearing their name or company logo. The cost varies depending on the seat's location within the hall.

Restoration Pricing Breakdown

Prices for orchestra seats are as follows:

  • 15,000 UAH per seat for rows 1 through 8
  • 12,000 UAH per seat for rows 9 through 14
  • 8,000 UAH for all other seats

For boxes, the costs are:

  • 40,000 UAH for boxes 1, 2, 7, 13, and 14
  • 50,000 UAH for boxes 3, 5, 6, 10, and 12
  • 45,000 UAH for boxes 4 and 11
  • 85,000 UAH for boxes 8 and 9
  • 80,000 UAH for boxes A, B, V, and G

Individuals, companies, and organizations are eligible to participate. The theater will determine how many seats each sponsor can claim. The text for the commemorative plaque must be approved by both the donor and the theater, but the theater retains final authority over the format, design, and wording.

As a token of gratitude for their support, a commemorative plaque bearing the donor's name or company name will be placed on the restored seat.

Theater Press Office

The theater reserves the right to refuse to manufacture or install a plaque if the proposed information violates state institution regulations, ethical norms, or the theater's reputation standards. The plaque will remain on the chosen seat until the next renovation or removal of the auditorium. Contributions made under this program are non-refundable once the plaque is produced, as they are considered irrevocable charitable donations.

Theater Administration

Ticket sales for theater performances follow standard procedures, and having a named plaque does not grant the donor any automatic rights to purchase, reserve, or use that seat during shows. Participants can choose to sponsor the restoration of a single seat, multiple seats, an entire row (if available), or a box. This seating renovation at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater is a key step toward modernizing the venue and fostering community support.

This initiative aims not only to restore the comfort and aesthetics of the theater hall but also to engage local businesses and philanthropists in cultural endeavors. At a time when many cultural institutions face financial challenges, such programs can serve as a vital tool for sustaining and advancing theatrical arts. The community has an opportunity to contribute to preserving cultural heritage, highlighting the theater's importance in public life.
