Tetiana Tarasyuk won bronze at the junior IBU Cup: how Ukrainian biathletes performed

Successes of Ukrainian biathletes

Tetiana Tarasyuk won a bronze medal at the junior IBU Cup held in Latvia. The Ukrainian biathlete finished third in the sprint race over a distance of 7.5 km with a time of 24:02.0. In this race, Tetiana lost to the winner Mantsa Kazermann by 49.3 seconds, while the silver went to Eser Wolfe from Latvia. This achievement marked the third medal in Tetiana Tarasyuk's career at the junior IBU Cup.

In addition to Tetiana Tarasyuk's success, Ukrainian biathletes also showed good results at the competitions. Polina Putsko, Viktoriya Khvostenko, and Ksenia Prykhodko finished in 7th, 8th, and 10th places respectively, contributing to the overall success of the Ukrainian team.

Achievements on the international stage

At the same time, Ukraine also distinguished itself at the European Youth Olympic Festival, where it took 10th place in the overall medal standings. At the festival, Ukrainian athletes won:

  • 5 gold medals
  • 8 silver medals
  • 10 bronze medals

This was the second most successful performance by Ukraine at the festivals since 1993. The largest number of medals, 25, was won by the Ukrainian team in 2019. Judo became the most successful sport for Ukraine at the festival, where 6 medals were won.

Additionally, at the World Summer Universiade, the Ukrainian national team won 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. Among these achievements, the bronze medal of Mykola Rushak in the 20-kilometer race walking stands out. These results indicate the success of Ukrainian athletes on the international stage.

The successes of Ukrainian athletes in international competitions emphasize the growing level of training and competition in sports. Performances at the junior IBU Cup, European Youth Olympic Festival, and World Summer Universiade demonstrate the potential of young athletes and their ability to achieve high results. These achievements can also contribute to the popularization of sports in Ukraine and the attraction of new young talented athletes to competitive activities.
