The rapid development of the Ukrainian cruise missile 'Flamingo' evokes admiration and doubts among experts. According to The Economist, this missile can become a serious threat to Russia. The declared characteristics of 'Flamingo' are impressive: a range of up to 3000 km, and the warhead weighs over a ton.

The missile was developed by the private company Fire Point in just nine months. Engineers drew inspiration from historical analogues, and the name of the missile was chosen in a humorous manner. Despite the declared successes, they have doubts. There are rumors about the company's ties to the President's Office and opaque financing. Fire Point denies these allegations.

Characteristics and details of 'Flamingo'

  • range - up to 3000 km;

  • time in the air - over 4 hours;

  • maximum speed - up to 950 km/h;

  • cruising speed - 850-900 km/h;

  • wingspan - up to 6 meters.

According to company representatives, the missile can be purchased for less than 1 million euros. Aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap believes that 'Flamingo' could prove effective against Russian air defense systems. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that mass production of this missile will begin in the near future.

The Ukrainian cruise missile 'Flamingo' is quickly gaining popularity and attracting interest from specialists. The declared characteristics and possible availability of this missile make it an attractive option for ensuring the country's defense capabilities. However, manufacturers argue that 'Flamingo' could become a true competitor to Russian air defense systems.
