Taekwondo athlete Garbar won the third gold for Ukraine at the Universiade

The sixth competition day of the World Universiade brought two more medals to Ukraine's national team. This was reported by 'Glavcom'.


Taekwondo athlete Artem Garbar won gold in the weight category up to 87 kg, defeating opponents from Mali, Azerbaijan, and the USA, and confidently winning against a representative of Poland in the final.


"I am very grateful for believing in me. I am very proud of my country. This is our third gold medal. I tried very hard to win this fight," said Artem.

In discus throw, bronze medalist Mikhail Brudин achieved a result of 60 meters 71 cm.


"I came here to throw 60 and 61, or 60 meters 20 centimeters. So I am very happy that I achieved this result - 60.71 m," shared his impressions bronze medalist Mikhail Brudin.

In the weight category up to 58 kg, taekwondo athlete Maxim Manenkov won the gold medal, while Kirill Gurnov received the bronze award in the weight up to 80 kg.


Manenkov found inspiration in the victory of Oleksandr Usyk, and Gurnov emphasized the importance of the bronze medal at such a high-level championship.



At the World Universiade, Ukrainian athletes continue to delight with their successes, competing alongside the best in the world. Golden and bronze medals are hard to come by, and they are a well-deserved recognition of the hard work and talent of our athletes. Each victory at an international tournament boosts the patriotic spirit of Ukrainians and showcases the high level of sports training in the country.
