«Family Leisure Club» topped the ranking of the best publishing houses in Ukraine in 2026, scoring the maximum 100%. The top five also include «Ranok», «Old Lion Publishing House», Vivat, and «A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA». The result complements the picture of how the Ukrainian book market is growing despite the reduction of print runs and financial difficulties faced by some companies. UBA reports this.
1. Family Leisure Club — 100%
The first place was taken by «Family Leisure Club» with a score of 19.23 points, or 100% of the leader's performance. KSD works with fiction, non-fiction, and children's books, publishing Ukrainian authors and translations of world bestsellers. Among the main advantages of the publishing house are a wide assortment, a large audience, and strong positions in mass literature. KSD was also among the publishers whose books were most often purchased by young people under the «eBook» program.
2. Ranok Publishing House — 85%
«Ranok» received 16.35 points and 85% of KSD's result. The strength of the Kharkiv-based publishing house is educational and children's literature: textbooks, workbooks, instructional materials, books for preschoolers, schoolchildren, and teenagers. There is also fiction for adults and electronic publications in their assortment. «Ranok» collaborates with European and American publishers, as well as with The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios. The publishing house has over 30 official representatives in Ukraine and abroad.
3. Old Lion Publishing House — 58.3%
The third place was taken by «Old Lion Publishing House» with 11.21 points and a score of 58.3%. The Lviv-based publishing house has been working since 2001 and focuses on books for the whole family. Its catalog covers children's publications, teenage literature, fiction, poetry, non-fiction, atlases, and art albums. One notable feature of VSL is its attention to the design of books, illustrations, and the development of modern Ukrainian literature.
4. Vivat — 52.8%
Vivat scored 10.16 points, corresponding to 52.8% of the leader's result. The publishing house has been operating since 2013 and specializes in Ukrainian and translated fiction, non-fiction, children's, and teenage books. According to the company's own data, Vivat sells about 2.5 million books annually and publishes approximately 300 new works. Its advantage is a large catalog of translated world bestsellers along with books by Ukrainian writers.
5. A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA — 49.8%
The rating is closed by «A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA», which scored 9.58 points, or 49.8%. The publishing house of Ivan Malkovich is well known for its children's literature, Ukrainian and world classics, poetry, and illustrated publications with distinctive authorial design. Its catalog features works by Lina Kostenko, Maria Matios, Andriy Kokotюha, Volodymyr Areniev, and other famous authors. A recognizable design and illustrated publications remain the brand's strong suit.
The rating shows that among the leaders of Ukrainian publishing, there are various models: from the mass fiction of KSD to the educational direction of «Ranok» and the authorial-artistic approach of «A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA». At the same time, in 2025, about 400 active publishers operated in Ukraine, with a total income of 8.9 billion UAH.
It is worth noting that earlier Inkorr reported that Ukrainians can exchange Russian-language books for new Ukrainian publications within a special initiative.
