Tragedy in Cherkasy Region: Fire Claims the Lives of Children
This evening, firefighters in Cherkasy received a call about a fire in a residential building in the Uman district. A concerned mother reported that the fire engulfed the entire apartment where her children were.
The firefighting crew quickly contained the fire over an area of 56 square meters. Despite their rapid response, the firefighters found only the bodies of three children and a small fragment possibly belonging to another child. It is likely that the deceased children were born in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2025. Another child, born in 2017, was hospitalized with first-degree burns to the hands and signs of smoke poisoning.
Currently, rescuers are investigating the cause of the fire. This incident is classified as a local emergency.
