A tragedy occurred in Chernihiv - a 17-year-old girl drowned in the Desna River. This information was spread by the State Emergency Service.
According to the State Emergency Service, the incident happened at the 'Golden Shore' beach in the afternoon. Everyone present saw how the girl disappeared in the water.
'Unfortunately, during the search, the girl's body was found and brought to the shore,' the statement said.
This is not the first tragedy this summer related to drownings in Ukraine's rivers. Recently, a man died in the Ternopil region while trying to save his grandson from drowning. Also, on July 9, a child drowned in the Mykolaiv region.
It is noted that this latest tragedy occurred in the village of Ingul community, where two 11-year-old girls went swimming in the Ingul River by themselves. Unfortunately, one of them ended up in the water and began to drown.
Information about the tragic incident in Chernihiv has become yet another reminder of the dangers of water bodies and the need for caution while swimming, especially for children. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of this incident.
