US President Donald Trump stated that a new agreement between Washington and Tehran could be signed as early as June 14, which, according to him, would entirely prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Trump informed about this on his social network Truth Social.

In his post, he harshly criticized the JCPOA nuclear agreement made during Barack Obama's presidency, calling it a 'easy path to nuclear weapons for Iran.' In contrast, he characterized the new agreement as a 'wall against nuclear weapons.'

According to the American president, after the signing of the agreement, Iran will be unable to obtain nuclear weapons either through development, purchase, or any other means.

Trump also stated that after the signing of the document, the Strait of Hormuz will be completely opened for international navigation. He emphasized that the new relations between the US and Iran, in his opinion, would be better than under previous administrations.

Separately, the US president mentioned the recent strikes by American B-2 strategic bombers on Iranian nuclear facilities. He stated that after stabilizing the situation, the United States intends to control the further disposal of nuclear materials.

At the same time, there has been no official confirmation from the Iranian side regarding the readiness to sign the agreement on June 14.

What is known about the possible agreement

Trump's statement came amid escalating tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear program and recent US military operations against Iranian nuclear facilities.

The American president expressed hope that the agreement would be implemented quickly and without new conflicts, but warned of the existence of 'alternative options' in case the negotiation process fails.

Earlier, Trump announced the end of the war with Iran and the agreement on a memorandum.
