US President Donald Trump responded to the statements of Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, in his blog Truth Social. It concerns the placement of two nuclear submarines in respective regions as a reaction to Medvedev's provocative words. Trump explained that this decision was made 'just in case' Medvedev's statements escalate into something more serious than words.
'Words are very important and can often lead to unpredictable consequences. I hope this will not be one of those cases,' said the American president, thanking for the attention to this matter.
Medvedev, for his part, responded to Trump's ultimatum, warning that every new ultimatum is a threat and could lead to war. He noted that Russia does not plan to make concessions and emphasized that Russia is not Israel and not even Iran. Such statements from Medvedev give grounds to speak of rising tensions.
Trump also announced significant losses of Russian troops in the conflict with Ukraine and expressed his intention to stop 'Biden's war.'
The increase in the number of nuclear submarines, ultimatums and threats, real troop losses, and rhetoric of the beginning of war—all these events indicate a sharpening of the situation between the countries and an increased risk of military conflict.
