Trump and Putin will meet in Alaska on August 15: what the leaders will discuss

US President Donald Trump announced his intention to hold a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska next Friday, August 15. He published this news on the social network Truth Social.



'The meeting between me, as the President of the United States, and Vladimir Putin will take place next Friday, August 15, 2025, in the large state of Alaska,' Trump wrote.


Earlier, during the signing of a document between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Trump expressed the possibility of territorial exchanges to end the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that such discussions could be complex and would require mutually beneficial terms.



'We are considering the return of some territories, some may be exchanged. Part will be returned, part will be exchanged, there will be an exchange of territories,' Trump explained.


The president also expressed hope for a peace treaty between Ukraine and Russia, emphasizing the desire of both sides to achieve peace.



Putin's assistant also confirmed that the leaders' summit in Alaska will take place on August 15 and added that the discussion of the Ukrainian crisis will be an important item on the agenda of the meeting.
