The alliance of the presidents of the United States and Russia in Alaska has generated significant interest among European leaders. The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, shared that during the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, three important goals were discussed. This information became known after consultations with the leaders of the EU, Ukraine, and France.
The main topic of discussion was ensuring peace in Ukraine and ending the war. The President of the European Council expressed gratitude to France for encouraging this meeting and expressed hope for a positive outcome from the negotiations in Alaska.
“First, a ceasefire. Second, only Ukraine has the right to negotiate its own issues. And third, the readiness of the US to cooperate with Europe to strengthen security if we achieve peace for Ukraine.”
It is expected that the meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska will yield concrete results for resolving the conflict in Ukraine and will be the first step toward peace in the region.
