Trainer Yehor Holub has confirmed that for the past 11 weeks, he has been preparing Oleksandr Usyk for a bout against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven. Usyk secured a knockout victory in the 11th round, marking a significant achievement for the Ukrainian world heavyweight boxing champion.
Serving as head trainer, Holub stated:
“I can confirm that for the last 11 weeks, I assisted Oleksandr in getting ready for the fight against Rico.”He also emphasized that the match was challenging and requires analysis.
“For me as a coach, the victory is what matters, but I have no intention of justifying people’s expectations that this fight was supposed to be a walk in the park.”the trainer noted.
