Today marks the third anniversary of the rocket strike on Vinnytsia, which occurred in 2022. At that time, Russian terrorists attacked the city center, resulting in the death of 29 people, including children, with another 154 injured. The commander-in-chief has compiled a chronology and consequences of the strike.
Chronology of events
On that day, Russia launched a series of rocket strikes on Vinnytsia. The targets were civilian objects in the city center. Russian missiles hit buildings with office spaces. Nearby residential houses were also damaged by the blasts. Three to four explosions occurred in Vinnytsia around 10:45, approximately half an hour after the air alert was declared. Later, the city and regional authorities confirmed the strikes on civilian objects.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the aggressor country attacked the Vinnytsia region with five missiles: two were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense. These were Kalibr missiles launched from a submarine in the Black Sea.
Casualties from the enemy attack
As a result of Russia's terrorist act, 29 people died, including three children (a 4-year-old girl and boys aged 7 and 8). Another 154 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
It is important to honor the memory and express support for the families of the deceased and injured as a result of this tragic event. The Vinnytsia community will continue to remember this dreadful day and the victims who were sacrificed due to Russian aggression.
