Third Anniversary of National Guardsman Rostyslav Plechii’s Passing
Ukraine is observing the third anniversary of the death of National Guardsman Rostyslav Plechii, who was killed in the Donetsk region. Plechii enlisted in the National Guard in March 2022, serving with the “Rubizh” brigade as a communications platoon commander. He tragically lost his life on the night of June 13, 2023, near the village of Spirne in Donetsk Oblast. This conflict, ongoing since 2014, has claimed many lives, and each anniversary serves as a solemn reminder of the human cost.
Rostyslav leaves behind a daughter, Sofia, who will remember her father as a hero. His contributions and sacrifice are recorded in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system’s Book of Memory, which documents the lives and service of fallen defenders. More details about his life and service can be found through the link to this book.
