The third anniversary of the death of rescuer Oleksiy Sych in Kherson region


Oleksiy Sych, who hailed from Zhytomyr region, was renowned for his water skills and held the title of candidate master of sports. After completing his medical training, he chose the path of rescue work. Since September 2019, he worked as a paramedic-rescuer, assisting the injured.


In 2020, Oleksiy participated in the reconstruction of residential buildings in Donetsk region that were damaged due to the war and shelling. On December 21, 2022, he went to Kherson region for medical support during demining operations, but tragically died on December 24.


The rescuer died on December 24, 2022, when enemy mines exploded during a territory inspection. Oleksiy sustained serious injuries and died en route to the hospital. He was only 26 years old.

Oleksiy Sych was devoted to his rescue mission and helped those in need. His selflessness and courage will always be remembered by those who knew him and worked with him.
