Three Dead and 15 Wounded After Major Russian Strike on Kharkiv Region

Три жертви та п’ятнадцять постраждалих внаслідок масштабної атаки з боку Росії на Харківщині.

Strike on Kharkiv Region

A large-scale Russian attack on the Kharkiv region has killed three people and left many others injured. The massive assault, which targeted the city of Kharkiv, struck both civilian sites and critical infrastructure. In Kharkiv, drone strikes ignited fires at a café, a municipal facility, and several cars. Residential apartment blocks and private homes, administrative and industrial buildings, a business center, a church, and vehicles all sustained damage.

Aftermath of the Attack

The attack wounded 15 individuals, including two children. In the city of Chuhuiv, missile strikes set garages, cars, and vegetation ablaze, and damaged residential and other structures. Three people died in Chuhuiv—two men and one woman—while three others suffered injuries.

Emergency response teams on the scene included:

  • State Emergency Service units
  • climbers
  • sappers
  • psychologists
  • National Police officers
  • medical personnel
  • volunteers
  • utility workers

Earlier, enemy drones struck Chuhuiv, hitting a local enterprise about six times and burning a large area. Kharkiv was targeted by 11 drones, with the Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts taking the brunt of the assault.

This latest attack on the Kharkiv region is part of the ongoing hostilities that continue to affect Ukraine’s civilian population. The damage to infrastructure could have long-term consequences for local residents, who are already grappling with wartime challenges. The coordinated response by emergency and medical services highlights their effectiveness in managing the aftermath, yet the humanitarian situation remains dire, underscoring the urgent need for international support and aid.
