Travel Trends for Summer 2026

During the summer of 2026, Turkey and Egypt emerged as the favorite vacation spots among Ukrainian tourists. The tour operator Join Up! Ukraine facilitated travel for over 210,000 travelers from May through September, signaling a strong rebound in tourism interest. While Egypt had previously held the top position, Turkey took the lead in July 2026 with more than 50,000 visitors booking trips. Alongside these two, Greece, Bulgaria, and Spain completed the list of the five most sought-after destinations this year.

The average price for an international package tour in 2026 was approximately 29,800 UAH (620 euros), marking an 8.6% increase compared to the previous year. Prices per person based on double occupancy started at the following rates:

  • Turkey – from 14,750 UAH
  • Egypt – from 19,950 UAH
  • Greece – from 20,120 UAH
  • Montenegro – from 21,400 UAH
  • Spain – from 34,450 UAH

For family vacations in summer 2026, Bulgaria, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey remained the preferred choices. Popular resorts included Sunny Beach, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Heraklion – Hersonissos.

Shifts in Travel Logistics

Chisinau Airport became a crucial departure point for Ukrainian tourists in 2026, handling over half of all outbound flights. Conversely, the appeal of Polish airports declined, with Rzeszow’s share dropping from 12% in 2025 to 6.7% in 2026, and Warsaw’s airport falling from 5% to 2.3%. August 2026 saw widespread train delays due to security concerns, significantly affecting travel logistics.

Demand for organized bus transfers increased toward the end of the 2026 season, with more than 26,000 travelers using Join Up! Ukraine’s bus tours. The primary departure cities for these routes were Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Uzhhorod. Domestically, Western Ukraine led in tourism, where the average summer tour price was around 14,000 UAH per person. Most domestic trips lasted 2–3 days, except for wellness resorts where stays extended from 7 to 14 days.

Amid these evolving patterns, Join Up! Ukraine has already launched early bookings for summer 2027 trips, available until March 31, 2027. A notable addition to the 2027 lineup is Croatia. The company highlights that

“early booking allows travelers to secure top hotels well before peak season, ensuring the best choices”

Shifts in Ukrainian travelers’ preferences and the broader international market dynamics continue to reshape travel plans. The resurgence of Turkey and Egypt underscores a gradual return to normalcy post-pandemic, while growing interest in domestic tourism points to increased support for Ukraine’s local resorts, benefiting the national economy.
