Turkey has urged all parties involved in the conflict to immediately de-escalate the situation in the Black Sea after a Russian attack on the port of Chornomorsk led to an accident involving a Turkish company's vessel. This incident has confirmed Turkey's warnings regarding the dangers to maritime navigation in this region due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

As a result of the attack, the crew and drivers of the vessel were evacuated, and no Turkish citizens were harmed. The Turkish Consulate General in Odessa is providing support to its citizens and monitoring the situation. Turkey demands an end to attacks on port and energy infrastructure in the region and the assurance of maritime safety.

In the context of the ongoing war in Donbas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Russia is waging war against Ukraine by targeting civilian objects. This situation underscores the importance of a swift resolution to the conflict and the establishment of peace in the region.
