Turkey is ready to work towards lasting peace in Ukraine
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ukraine's involvement in the peace settlement process could lead to sustainable peace. He made this statement during a conversation with Ukraine's Foreign Minister and a meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister.
Fidan also emphasized the significant importance of the planned meeting between Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump next week in Washington. At the same time, it was noted that Turkey intends to continue supporting diplomatic initiatives and play an important role in ensuring peace.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga also noted Turkey's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and emphasized that Ankara is an important platform for negotiations.
At the same time, Russia shows no willingness to end the war, so international pressure on Moscow and support for the Ukrainian initiative are very important. The possibility of halting hostilities between Russia and Ukraine was also discussed during Fidan's communication with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Support from Turkey and other international participants in resolving the conflict in Ukraine is crucial for achieving sustainable peace in the region. It is important for diplomatic efforts to continue, and for pressure on Russia to increase to compel it to act in the interest of all parties.
