Compromise on Territorial Issues for Achieving Peace
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed the opinion that for Ukraine to achieve peace, it is necessary to compromise on territorial issues. Tusk's statement was made on December 30. He noted that such an approach from Ukraine is important for the realization of peace initiatives.
The Importance of International Support
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also commented on this topic, emphasizing the importance of legally secured security guarantees from the USA. Zelensky is negotiating with Donald Trump regarding the deployment of US troops in Ukraine, emphasizing that
“these are US troops and therefore it is America that makes such decisions.” - Volodymyr Zelensky
He also noted that without US support, Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia in the war.
Tusk's and Zelensky's statements reflect the complex situation in Ukraine, where the issues of territorial compromises and international support remain critically important for ensuring stability. In the context of an ongoing conflict, it is vital that Ukraine receives not only political but also military guarantees from partners, which may significantly influence the course of events in the region.
