Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the country's readiness to defend its airspace from any violations. He emphasized that Poland will act decisively to protect its borders.
According to RMF24, Tusk stated Poland's readiness to "undoubtedly make the decision to shoot down flying objects if they violate our territory and fly over Poland".
The Prime Minister stressed that in situations of airspace violations, Poland will act decisively, without discussions. Tusk also emphasized the importance of cooperation with NATO allies, demanding firm guarantees of support in case of conflict.
'But I must be 100% sure that our allies will treat this the same way we do, that if the conflict enters a very acute phase, we will not be alone in this,' Tusk concluded.
Tusk also underscored the importance of caution in conflict situations, especially in disputed areas. He noted the incident with Russian fighters over the Petrobaltic platform, where, although there were no formal violations, Poland should carefully consider its further actions.
In his statement, the Prime Minister highlighted Poland's readiness to defend its territory and expressed hope for the support of allies in case of conflict. He also stressed the necessity of caution and measured actions in complex situations to avoid further escalation of the conflict.
