In Bila Tserkva, the launch of free city buses for community residents is starting. The city has already received the first four vehicles, which will be used during the difficult situation with electricity supply. This is reported by Espreso: Bila Tserkva.
Currently, Bila Tserkva is the only city in the Kyiv region where electric transport in the form of trams operates. They consume about 8 MW of electricity daily, which accounts for approximately 10% of the city's total energy consumption. Because of this, the priority has been set to ensure electricity supply to residential buildings, while public transport will continue to operate on its usual routes.
Free transport in Bila Tserkva: how the project will work
Kyiv region is preparing a mechanism for free transportation for residents of communities in difficult conditions. The project envisages free travel for all residents, not just for certain categories. Buses will operate as needed, ensuring social comfort and supporting the economy of communities.
According to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, decisions have already been made for seven communities in the region that have their own municipal transport enterprises and the necessary infrastructure.

The Kyiv Regional State Administration notes that communities have the opportunity to independently ensure the operation of transport, having drivers, vehicles, and bus bases for storing rolling stock.
