In Borodyanka, for the Day of St. Nicholas, a Christmas tree shone for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war and the moment of de-occupation at the holiday fair. Hundreds of local residents gathered in the main square of the settlement, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. His photographs circulated the world in the first weeks of de-occupation, reminding of the resilience of Borodyanka and all of Kyiv region.

The comprehensive restoration of the settlement continues, where 825 objects were destroyed or damaged. More than 600 objects have already been rebuilt, including six apartment buildings for over 180 families. In addition to residential objects, the heating and water supply networks, schools, kindergartens, and infrastructure for modern shelters and transport are also being updated.

'We have no right to forget what happened in Borodyanka. For Kyiv region, memorialization is not just commemorative signs or murals. It is a way to pass the truth about the full-scale war to future generations. It is the memory of the people who died.' - noted a local resident.

The restoration of Borodyanka is a joint effort of the community, the region, the state, and partners who are investing a part of their work into ensuring that the settlement lives fully and safely. We thank everyone who works for their community and for their home.

The settlement of Borodyanka has undergone restoration after the great war and de-occupation, bringing joy and hope for the future to local residents. Initiatives for the reconstruction of vital facilities, such as houses, schools, and utility networks, demonstrate the strength of collective action and the hard work of the community in developing their native land.
