In Borodyanka, the first Christmas tree was lit in two years: how the community is bringing back the light

У Бородянці вперше за два роки запалили новорічну ялинку: місто відновлює святкову атмосферу.

A Christmas tree has illuminated the town of Borodyanka for the first time since 2022. This is not just a festive decoration for the local residents, but also a symbol of returning to normal life. After a large number of destroyed buildings and the tragedies experienced, the community has managed to revive and joyfully welcome guests again.

Today, the Borodyanka village council is not only recovering but also helping others. As a participant in the project 'Shoulder to Shoulder: United Communities', it shares its survival experience with those who are currently going through difficult times. These smiles and joyful laughter warmed the hearts of Borodyanka's residents like festive lights.

We thank our partners who support the creation of a festive atmosphere for our children even during wartime.

Children from frontline communities visited Borodyanka

Children from frontline communities across various regions of Ukraine visited Borodyanka at the invitation. They attended a children’s fair, participated in interesting quizzes, and received holiday gifts for St. Nicholas Day. Together, they lit the Christmas tree, which became yet another symbol of unity and hope for a better future.

Borodyanka continues to remind: when people come together, the light always returns.
