Germany may gain access to nuclear weapons from France and the United Kingdom
The leader of the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag Jens Spahn suggested that Germany could gain access to nuclear warheads from France and the United Kingdom to create a joint 'nuclear umbrella' in Europe.
He emphasized the need to strengthen the defensive capabilities of European countries and noted that the American atomic bombs on German territory would be insufficient in the future.
'Europe must have the ability for self-defense. The current American nuclear bombs located in Germany will not be sufficient in the long term,' - emphasized Jens Spahn.
Spahn acknowledged that there are difficulties in the joint use of nuclear weapons but stressed that Germany must play a key role in developing new European nuclear weapons.
