Cherkasy Incident
During a routine document inspection on Olena Teliga Street in Cherkasy, a man threw an explosive device at military personnel and National Police officers. The detained individual became verbally aggressive before launching the attack, which resulted in an explosion. The Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region has initiated criminal proceedings. The suspect is charged under Part 2 of Article 15, Clause 1 of Part 2 of Article 115 (attempted premeditated murder) and Article 348 (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer or serviceman) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If convicted, he faces a prison sentence ranging from 9 to 15 years, or potentially life imprisonment.
