In Chernihiv, the Desnyansky District Court issued a ruling on the case of a local resident who attempted to set fire to a car donated for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a charitable fund for $500, as paid to him by an enemy curator. The man was unable to carry out the attack due to the presence of nearby individuals and was detained. The convicted individual will serve a five-year prison sentence for the attempted sabotage of military affairs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The court established that the defendant received detailed instructions from the curator regarding the arson of the vehicle and attempted to commit this act, but he was apprehended by law enforcement. During the trial, he denied guilt and tried to explain his actions as a deception of the curator, but the evidence was overwhelming. In particular, the geolocation data from the phone and the seized material confirmed his attempt.
This case is yet another confirmation of the enemies of Ukraine's attempts to obstruct the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of the country and undermine its defense capabilities. However, thanks to the prompt actions of law enforcement, the situation was halted, and the perpetrator was assigned the appropriate punishment.
