As of August 1, passengers with the right to free travel will be able to use it on bus No. 7 in Chernivtsi. The route connects Sadova Street with the Novy Lenkivtsi neighborhood. This was reported by the Chernivtsi Trolleybus Administration.
Subsidized travel in Chernivtsi on route No. 7
The decision to include the route in the list of subsidized routes was made by the executive committee of the Chernivtsi City Council on July 14. It has the number No. 377/16.
Passengers with the right to free travel will be able to ride bus No. 7 according to current legislation. For them, this means a direct subsidized route between Novy Lenkivtsi, the railway station, and the city center.
At the same time, for other passengers, the payment procedure and regular fare on the route do not change. The subsidy does not automatically apply to everyone, but is valid only if there is the corresponding right and documents.
Which bus routes in Chernivtsi are already subsidized
After the addition of No. 7, subsidized travel in Chernivtsi will apply to 11 bus routes:
- No. 1, No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, No. 8A and No. 9;
- No. 10A, No. 13, No. 15, No. 23 and No. 24.
The expansion of the list is particularly important for residents of Novy Lenkivtsi, who previously had to look for other subsidized routes or make transfers. Bus No. 7 passes through a number of transport hubs, including the railway station area, so the change simplifies daily trips for part of the residents.
It should be noted that in Chernivtsi they are preparing to review the fare for rides on city buses. If the executive committee supports the corresponding draft decision, starting August 1, the cost of one trip will decrease from 20 to 19 hryvnias.
