In Chernivtsi, bus route No. 13, which connects the city center with the Sadgora neighborhood, will become preferential starting February 1. This decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the city council after the route began to be serviced by the municipal trolleybus management. This is reported by Suspilne.
According to Igor Krochmal, the Deputy Mayor of Chernivtsi, there is a stable demand among preferential passenger categories on route No. 13. Since December, large-class buses equipped with validators have been operating on the line, which allowed for the introduction of preferential travel.

According to Igor Krochmal, the previous private carrier did not install validators, which is why the route could not be preferential. After the operator change, this problem was resolved.
Preferential travel in Chernivtsi: why are validators needed
The installation of validators in public transport makes it possible to accurately account for the number of preferential trips and determine the amount of compensation from the city budget. This allows the city to plan expenses for reimbursements to carriers.
Previously, route No. 13 was serviced by LLC Chernivtsi-2004. In mid-December, the company notified the city council of its cessation of work due to a lack of drivers caused by mobilization. To prevent the route from stopping, it was transferred to the municipal trolleybus management, bringing in drivers from other directions.
