Ukraine is actively preparing for the upcoming elections. Deputy Chairman of the CEC Serhiy Dubovyk noted that the country needs at least six months to prepare for the elections, as updating and verifying the electoral lists is of great importance. This process is complicated by the large number of refugees and internally displaced persons due to the war with Russia.

Currently, only 75% of polling stations in Ukraine are active, which poses a significant challenge. Dubovyk emphasized that it is hard to imagine how nearly 1 million Ukrainians currently serving in the military, many of whom are on the front line, will vote without guarantees of security during the voting process.

Conditions for holding elections in accordance with international standards must be created within six months. This important issue is being discussed by heads of state and promoted internationally, including by the President of the United States.

The spokesperson for the European Commission emphasized that security is a key aspect for the successful conduct of elections in Ukraine. Therefore, the issues of security and preparation should be at the forefront to ensure free and fair elections in the country.
