Coalition of the Willing Gathers in Kyiv for Ukraine’s Independence Day

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, at the President’s invitation, attended a Coalition of the Willing meeting in Kyiv on Ukraine’s Independence Day. This format brings together allied nations to coordinate support for Ukraine. Partner-state leaders joined the talks in person and online. Koretskyi brought them up to date on the country’s macroeconomic situation, the fiscal deficit, and the additional requirements of the Defense Forces. He also highlighted major challenges and risks that could arise in 2026–2027.

“This is an extremely important and valuable format, and the fact that it took place in Kyiv on Independence Day is especially symbolic,” Koretskyi said.

The participants discussed ways to enable the necessary decisions and agreed to continue detailed work through national governments and with European institutions.

“This work will help bolster Ukraine’s resilience and our defense capability,” the prime minister added.

International Support and Economic Stability

The Coalition of the Willing session on Ukraine’s Independence Day shows how significant international solidarity remains for the country amid current challenges. Cooperation with partners and strategic talks are intended to strengthen defense capacity as well as stabilize Ukraine’s economy. Further efforts at the national-government level and with European institutions could play a decisive role in the country’s development over the next few years.
