Public Vote Launched for Stamp Design
A nationwide vote has begun in the Diia mobile app to select the design for a new commemorative stamp titled 'We Are Waiting.' This special anniversary issue is being produced by Ukrposhta in collaboration with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. The stamp honors Ukrainian heroes and their families, with the official release of the stamp block scheduled for August 24, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.
Competition and Voting Stages
A total of 195 creative submissions were received in the all-Ukrainian competition from participants in cities including Kharkiv, Kherson, Bucha, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Kyiv. Following the second stage of expert evaluation, seven finalists were selected and are now competing for public support. Voting runs until June 24, giving everyone the chance to voice their opinion and back their favorite design.
To cast a vote for a design, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Diia app on your smartphone.
- Navigate to the services menu and select the 'Polls' section.
- Click on the Independence Day stamp vote and review the finalists' works.
Only the drawings that generated the most interest among experts made it to the finals. After choosing the design that resonates most, you can support your favorite.
This competition not only promotes philately in Ukraine but also underscores the importance of honoring heroes who made significant contributions to the country's fight for independence. In 2018, Ukrposhta participated in the Europa philatelic competition, where the 'Bridges of Ukraine' stamps were ranked among the best in Europe based on the results.
