New Veteran Services Now Available in the 'Diia' App
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced a new feature in the 'Diia' app called 'Data from the Veterans Registry,' located within the 'Veteran Pro' section, and has also updated the electronic veteran certificate. This initiative is designed to streamline veterans' access to essential services and information regarding their status. The move is part of a broader digital transformation in Ukraine, aiming to make government services more accessible to citizens, especially those who have served.
According to Yuliia Svyrydenko, the digital veteran certificate is now automatically generated based on an entry in the Unified State Register of War Veterans, which is populated by military units. This update allows veterans to use services in 'Diia' immediately after receiving their status, eliminating the need to wait for a paper document or manually submit its number to the registry.
Capabilities of the New 'Veteran Pro' Section
The new 'Veteran Pro' section enables users to view their personal data from the veterans registry, allowing them to verify its accuracy and, if necessary, request changes through the 'Data from the Veterans Registry' service. Initially, only the data viewing function will be active.
Head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, participated in a meeting focused on implementing veteran policy in Ukraine. The discussion centered on strengthening support for defenders at the regional and territorial community levels.
"Online services for veterans are just one part of the government's initiatives. Among the priority tasks is providing veterans with the necessary conditions for rapid rehabilitation and their subsequent reintegration into civilian life." - Yuliia Svyrydenko
The introduction of these new digital services represents a significant step in Ukraine's policy to support combat veterans. It not only simplifies access to crucial information but also facilitates the swift processing of veteran status, which is critically important for their social rehabilitation. The government is working to ensure a comprehensive support approach for veterans, encompassing both digital services and the physical conditions needed for integration into civilian society.
As the 'Diia' app expands its offerings for veterans, it's important to note that it also provides essential support such as complimentary auto insurance for veterans and those with war-related disabilities. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those who have served, ensuring they receive comprehensive assistance during their transition to civilian life.
