Ukraine Against Russian Narratives: Religious Leaders Unite for Deoccupation

The event titled 'Interreligious Dialogue: Cooperation in Countering Russian Narratives and Promoting Deoccupation Processes in Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine' was held at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine. This event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience.



Participants of the event were representatives of various religious communities, leaders of religious organizations, and experts on religious freedom and deoccupation issues. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Maryana Betza emphasized the importance of countering attempts by Russian occupiers to destroy the Ukrainian religious diversity and spiritual tradition. The issues of systematic international advocacy for deoccupation and reintegration of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine were also discussed.


The thematic event held at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine confirmed the importance of joint efforts in counteracting disinformation, preserving religious freedom, and supporting the deoccupation of occupied territories. Not only representatives of religious communities participated in it, but also high-ranking officials and experts, indicating a wide range of stakeholders interested in further cooperation.
