Progress on the New Oncology Center in Kharkiv Region
A cutting-edge oncology center is currently under construction in the Kharkiv region, featuring a secure underground section spanning over 3,000 square meters. Designed to accommodate more than 1,100 patients, this underground unit will include medical wards, diagnostic rooms, and surgical theaters. Provided that funding remains consistent, the underground portion is expected to be completed by July 2027.
Initial groundwork has been finished at the construction site, and concrete foundations are now being poured. The next phases involve erecting walls and columns. By the end of 2026, the reinforced concrete structure of the underground facility should be finalized and covered with soil. The entire project is valued at approximately 2 billion hryvnias, with the underground section estimated to require between 500 and 700 million hryvnias.
Modern Technology Backed by Government Funding
The oncology center will consist of four buildings and will be equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology for cancer patients. Notably, the center plans to include a positron emission tomography (PET) scanner. Recognized as a priority public investment by the government, the project is financed through the state budget, coordinated by the Ministry of Health and supported by international partners.
Oleg Synehubov stated: 'The estimated total cost of the complex, including equipment, is around 2 billion hryvnias.'
