Kharkiv and the village of Borodyanka in the Bucha district of Kyiv region will join the testing of 5G technology in Ukraine. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, despite the challenging situation due to the war, this year Kharkiv and Borodyanka will also join Lviv. The Minister of Digital Transformation explained that these cities, which have suffered destruction due to shelling, will help test the new technology under extreme conditions. He also emphasized Ukraine's readiness to implement innovations even with limited resources.
Fedorov: 'Experts will also be able to assess the potential of 5G in the recovery of cities, from implementing smart solutions for municipalities to digital services for citizens.'
According to plans, by 2030 Ukraine will transition to modern communication standards, abandoning 3G in favor of 4G. The process will be gradual, ensuring users have fast internet and stable connections.
Ukraine continues to develop modern communication technologies, taking a step into the future with the testing of 5G in cities, which is especially important due to the circumstances of war and destruction.
