У Києві відбудуться ярмарки фермерської продукції 7-8 лютого: огляд цін на огірки та картоплю у різних районах.

Farmers' Markets Coming to Kyiv

Traditional farmers' markets will be held across various districts of Kyiv on February 7 and 8, 2026. The 'Hlavkom' publication, citing the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration, announced the event schedule. These markets offer capital residents a direct opportunity to purchase fresh produce from local growers.

Market Schedule and Locations

On February 7, markets will operate in several Kyiv districts:

  • Holosiivskyi District: Pankivska Street (between Saksahanskoho and Zhylianska Streets) and Holosiivska Street, 4-10.
  • Darnytskyi District: Revutskoho Street.
  • Desnianskyi District: Serzh Lifar Street (between Honore de Balzac Street and Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue).
  • Dniprovskyi District: Ihor Shamo Boulevard, 2-12.
  • Obolonskyi District: Petro Kalnyshevsky Street, 1-5 and Iordanska Street, 1-9.
  • Podilskyi District: Stepan Bandera Avenue (near Kurenivsky Park).
  • Solomianskyi District: Stadionna Street (between Patriarch Mstyslav Skrypnyk and Bohdanivska Streets).
  • Shevchenkivskyi District: Bohdan Havrylyshyn Street, 7-11.

The markets will continue on February 8, 2026, at the following locations:

  • Holosiivskyi District: Samiila Kishky Street (between Yuliia Zdanovska and Vasylia Kasiiana Streets).
  • Darnytskyi District: Zdolbunivska Street, 4.
  • Dniprovskyi District: Ihor Yukhnovsky Street (between Raiduzhna and Starosilska Streets).
  • Pecherskyi District: John McCain Street (between Ioanna Pavla II and Dmytra Doroshenka Streets).
  • Shevchenkivskyi District: Tatarska Street, 32-38.

These events occur against a backdrop of rising food prices in Ukraine. A notable increase has been recorded for greenhouse cucumbers, with the domestic market largely supplied by imports from Turkey, the traditional key provider of greenhouse vegetables during winter. Furthermore, a prolonged period of price stability for staple soup vegetables has ended, with wholesale potato prices surging sharply. 'Hlavkom' conducted its own survey of Kyiv supermarkets, confirming the upward trend in potato costs.

Kyiv's traditional farmers' markets are a significant initiative for supporting local producers and providing residents with access to fresh food.

Given the current inflationary pressures on vegetables, these markets may offer consumers a valuable alternative for sourcing affordable produce. The rising prices for staples like potatoes highlight ongoing challenges in the agricultural market, which could influence shopper behavior and purchasing decisions at the upcoming events.
