The Allegations
A 42-year-old man in Kyiv is suspected of sexually abusing his own three-year-old daughter. According to the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the father exposed himself to the child, placed a toy on his genitals, and encouraged the girl to touch it. He described these acts as a game. The first incidents allegedly took place in spring 2024.
During a search, investigators found photos that the suspect had taken during the abuse. They also discovered video files of child pornography that had been downloaded from the internet. The suspect's actions have been classified as:
- sexual abuse of his young daughter;
- production of child pornography;
- forcing the child to participate in the creation of pornographic material.
The charges carry maximum penalties of up to 15 years in prison.
Prosecutor's Response
The prosecutor asked the court to place the suspect in custody, but bail of 332,000 hryvnias was set instead. The prosecution is appealing that decision.
